Ephesians 2:8–10 (ESV)
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
You didn’t earn it. You couldn’t have.
Your salvation was never a paycheck for good behavior — it’s a gift, handed to you while you were still in the ashes. Not by works, so no one gets to brag, and no one gets to feel disqualified either.
And here’s the part we miss: He didn’t just save you FROM something. He saved you FOR something. You are His workmanship — His masterpiece, His handiwork — created in Christ Jesus for good works that He prepared beforehand.
God already wrote the good works into your story before you ever showed up. Your job isn’t to invent your purpose. It’s to walk in the one He already prepared.
So walk. Not to earn His love — you already have it. Walk because you’re His, and His workmanship doesn’t sit on a shelf.
