What He Requires

“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” — Micah 6:8 (ESV)

For a long time I tried to do life my own way, and it kept breaking me. When I finally surrendered — really surrendered — I learned that following God isn’t about a long list I have to get perfect. It’s about walking with Him, one humble step at a time.

That’s what this verse looks like in my life now. Doing what is right, even when nobody’s watching. Loving kindness — because I know what it’s like to need someone safe, someone who wouldn’t judge me or tell me what to do, and I want to be that for others. And walking humbly, knowing I don’t have it all figured out, but He’s the one leading.

I don’t walk this out perfectly. I just walk it out daily — in my teaching, in my work, in the way I show up for people. That’s enough, because He’s the one holding the whole thing together.

Prayer: Father, keep it simple for me today. Help me do what is right, love kindness well, and walk humbly with You. When I want to overcomplicate it, bring me back to this. Amen.
