“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” — Psalm 147:3 (ESV)
There was a time my heart was broken in so many places I didn’t know where one wound ended and the next began. Addiction, abuse, jail, losing my way — I carried pieces of myself that felt too shattered to ever be whole again.
But God doesn’t rush past a broken heart. He doesn’t tell you to get over it or hide it. He heals — gently, patiently, piece by piece — and He binds up the wounds Himself. I think about Ruth House, the place that once held my broken pieces. Just this past Sunday night, that same place held my joy. That’s what healing looks like: not pretending the wounds were never there, but letting Him turn them into testimony.
If your heart is broken tonight, you don’t have to fix it before you come to Him. Bring Him the pieces. He knows exactly how to hold them, and He knows exactly how to heal them.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for not leaving my heart broken. Bind up what still hurts, heal what I can’t fix on my own, and let my healing become hope for somebody else. In Jesus’ name, amen.
